Green Tea

The tea plant is a small green shrub with elliptically shaped leaves and small white flowers. Various teas are obtained from the leaves and they are also harvested for the extraction of essential oil.

Green tea is used as a natural preservative due to its antibacterial properties and is also incredibly rich in antioxidants that help reduce the signs of aging by protecting the skin from damage caused by free radicals. The antioxidants found in green tea are so effective that they are 25-100 times stronger than vitamin C and E. Green tea also has a calming effect and can reduce redness and rosacea.

Green tea is grown in China where the species originates. It also grows wild in China and Japan and is then found in the forests, at watercourses and at the foot of the mountains.
